This film takes the audience on a re-visit with poet A.R. Ammons to the primal places in North Carolina that appear in his poems. Featuring the poem "Easter Morning," read by Ammons, the soundtrack also includes sound effects from nature and original music. Works by Winston-Salem, NC composer Kenneth Frazelle, as well as Ammons himself playing hymns on the piano are incorporated. Visual material was gathered in places the poet spent his early years in North Carolina, primarily Whiteville. Vintage family photographs are also included. Images of the poet late in life and as a child as well as photographs taken in New Hope Churchyard of family graves add to the authenticity of this poetry/documentary short film.  Read the poem.
